Shelton Technology By the Numbers
The Technology Team supports
Shelton’s four entities: the school,
the Evaluation Center, the Speech
Center and the Outreach & Training
department.
In May, eight staff members from
across all divisions traveled to
Austin for a day at the Apple
campus. During their visit, the
team explored Apple’s coding and
programming curriculum, gaining hands-on experience with
Swift Playgrounds and Xcode.
• 80+ miles of fiber and copper cable
• State-of-the-art network configuration
• An Interactive flat panel in every classroom
• 2,600 + devices
- Computers
- iPads
- Interactive flat panels (SmartBoard)
- Printers
- Video display monitors
Following the visit, the team was tasked with reimagining the
technology curriculum — from early learners through Upper
School — with a focus on thoughtfully and strategically
integrating Swift Playgrounds and
Xcode. The goal is to develop a
structured program that allows
interested students to advance and
excel in technology and programming
along personalized learning paths.

In July 2024, James Rolando joined Shelton as Audio Visual
Specialist. He earned a Bachelor’s degree in Theatre from the
University of Tennessee at Knoxville. James returned to DFW
in 2016 to begin his career in live event and commercial AV.
He spent eight years at the University of Texas at Arlington
as lead lighting technician and was part of the production
team that opened Dickies Arena in Fort Worth. At home,
James enjoys video games and building computers.
In June 2025, Amanda Liese was named Shelton’s
Educational Technology Coordinator. She began at Shelton
in 2018 as an Upper School math teacher and became
head of the math department in 2022. Amanda holds a
Bachelor’s degree in Secondary Education and Mathematics
from Oklahoma State University and a Master’s degree
in Curriculum and Instruction with a concentration in
Educational Technology from Southeastern Oklahoma State
University.
“I’m excited to have the opportunity to be a resource to
help all staff members with their specific technological
needs, no matter their capacity,” Amanda said. “I get to take
my passion for the Shelton community to a new level by
supporting our incredible staff members.”
