Samantha Bongiorno (Class of 2013):
From Shelton to Surgery
Samantha Bongiorno earned a B.A.
in Philosophy and Global Health from
Macalester College and an M.D. from
St. George’s University. She is now a
general surgery resident in upstate
New York and plans to pursue a trauma
fellowship to become a double boardcertified general and trauma/critical
care surgeon.
Bongiorno says she is most proud of finishing medical
school, a milestone on her path to becoming a surgeon.
“I think the biggest thing Shelton taught me was how to be
an advocate for myself in education and in life.”
Aidan Eefting (Class of 2016):
First-Generation College Grad and Lawyer
Aidan Eefting earned a Bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice
from the University of North Texas and a Juris Doctor from
UNT Dallas College of Law in May. He passed the Bar Exam
on his first attempt and is pursuing a career in law, with
aspirations of working as a prosecutor or defense attorney
for the State of Texas before eventually
establishing his own practice or joining
a firm as a partner.
“What inspires me most about my work
is the opportunity to serve as a voice
for clients, advocating for their rights
and needs.”

The Shelton Pathfinders program
pairs current seniors with alumni
mentors who can share guidance,
advice and real-world insights
as students prepare for life after
graduation. Created with input from
Katie Guerra (Class of 2025), the
program is designed to build lasting
connections between students and
alumni. Alumni can sign up now
through the Pathfinders link on the
alumni page at Shelton.org.
Lindsay Kaplan (Class of 2020):
Assistant Company Manager on Broadway
Lindsay Kaplan graduated from The Theatre School at
DePaul University in 2024 with a Bachelor of Fine Arts
in Theater Management. She now lives in New York City
and works as the Assistant Company Manager of the
Broadway production “Hadestown.” In this role, she helps
oversee payroll, union benefit reports, house seat requests,
marketing meetings, financial discussions and nightly
reporting to producers and investors. She also coordinates
events and social media
projects with budgets of
$50,000 or more.
“Working on Broadway
has always been a dream
of mine because of my
love for the arts. Company
management combines
theater with the running
and maintaining of a
business, which I find
fascinating to learn about
and understand.”
