operations helps students as they begin their studies in Algebra I. In this Algebra 1 preview class, students
use a variety of methods to review the fundamental principles of whole numbers, fractions, decimals, and
percentages in preparation for the Algebra I curriculum. Students also receive an introduction to integers,
exponential notation, scientific notation, and word problems.
Algebra II Preview
Prerequisite: Algebra I and Geometry
Grades 10-11
Is your child ready for Algebra II? If your child needs a review of Algebra I in preparation for taking Algebra
II, this class will provide that review! Students will review the major concepts taught in Algebra I and will
have the chance to practice solving problems that reinforce those concepts under the guidance of their
Algebra teacher.
Computer Keyboarding
Grades 9-10
Does your child need to strengthen keyboarding skills in order to work more effectively on the computer?
Using a computer requires a system for typing speed and accuracy. In this class, students will learn
multisensory touch-typing and the skills needed to improve their keyboarding skills. The goal for students is
to improve their typing speed to be better than their best handwriting speed. Student attendance the first
week of class is essential in order to ensure foundation skills are learned.
Grade levels refer to the grade students will enter in the fall.
Shelton students are given priority on or before April 14.
