Organizational Skills and Study Strategies
(New-to-Shelton Students, Fall 2026)
Grades 9-12
Strong study strategies and organization skills can greatly contribute to a student’s academic success. This
class teaches techniques of organization, how to study effectively and efficiently, time management,
awareness of personal learning styles, textbook marking, hints on positive class participation and attitude,
outlining strategies for effective writing and project completion, note-taking, successful homework
completion, and test-taking strategies. This course is required for all NEW Upper School Shelton students.
(Not recommended for current Shelton students without the approval of the head of Upper School, as this
study skills curriculum is taught daily throughout the school year.)
