ETHICS
The principal focus of this course is on developing
an understanding of choices in daily life. Choices
are broken down into two categories, and a ninestep procedure is taught to assist in the decisionmaking process. The class explores current events
in the local and global communities to study social
issues concerning our society. Additionally, students
examine the causes and signs of violence to help
make better choices in their own relationships.
Through the study of Nobel Peace Prize winners,
students learn how individuals who strive to make
good choices can impact the human race.

HUMANITIES I
This one-semester course is an interdisciplinary survey of cultures focusing on
the philosophical and aesthetic factors (art, music, etc.) in human values with
an emphasis on the historical development of the individual and society, the
need to create, and the aesthetic and intellectual works through which cultures
express their values and aspirations. This course focuses on the major periods
of history including the Ancient World, Middle Ages, Renaissance, Baroque,
Romantic, and Modern/Postmodern periods.
