TYPICAL FOUR-YEAR COURSE PLAN
9th Grade
• 4 core classes
English I, World Geography, Algebra I, Biology
• Reading and/or Modern Language
• 3 other classes each semester:

Athletics/Health/PE, Fine Arts, Technology, Speech, Ethics
• Or 2 classes and 1 Study Hall period
10th Grade
• 4 core classes
English II, World History, Geometry, Chemistry
• Reading and/or Modern Language
• 3 other classes each semester:
o
Athletics/Health/PE, Fine Arts, Technology, Psychology, Sociology
• Or 2 classes and 1 Study Hall period
11th Grade
• 4 core classes
English III, U.S. History, Algebra II, Physics
• Reading, Modern Language and/or Elective
• 3 other classes each semester
• Or 2 classes and 1 Study Hall period
12th Grade
• 4 core classes
English IV, Government/Economics, Math, Science
• Reading, Modern Language and/or Elective
• 3 other classes each semester
• Or 2 classes and 1 Study Hall period
Additional study hall periods may be added with administrative approval.
Enrollment in zero hour is required for Dual Credit English IV, Yearbook,
Cheerleading, Chargerettes, Mascot, and Cross Country.
Enrollment in 8th-period Athletics/off season is required for all sports
EXCEPT Cross Country, Golf, Swimming, and Tennis.
Students interested in pursuing a semester-long leadership academy, study
abroad program or other approved educational opportunity may work with
Upper School administration to explore options that support both their
academic progress and graduation requirements.
